What's the main difference between a Blackberry Curve 8300 and a Blackberry 8820? Advantages and disadvantages other than price?

Main difference is size. Without getting into the various carrier's versions, you'd have to explore the differences in the 8*00, 8*10, 8*20, 8*30 series to get the nuances between each. (GPS, no GPS, WiFi, no WiFi, etc.)

TMO user here, with 8820. First BB for me, used it now for about 2 months. Has wifi, UMA, gps but no camera.

Comparable from TMO is their Curve, with wifi, UMA no gps but camera.

After 2 months, if I had to do over again, probably get the curve. Just feels better in my hand. 8820 is slightly larger but solid and great keyboard. Can't go wrong with either.

Price - curve should be much less than 8820. Got mine on special promotion:

How long does the 8820 last on standby? How long does the battery last when the phone is on? Can you lock the phone with a security code? I read you couldn't lock the phone. I read the thing is a tri band, how you used yours overseas? Thank you kindly

A little bit of research will tell you all you ask and more.

You can lock the Blackberry and SIM card independently.

GSM Blackberries are all quad-band.
Newer CDMA Blackberries (at least, the 8830) are CDMA in North America and GSM 900/1800 elsewhere.
