Starwood Preferred Guest - Brand Concept: Luxury Collection vs. St. RegisView Full Version : Brand Concept: Luxury Collection vs. St. Regis senyorito_nes Jul 21, 08, 3:07 am deleted MACH81 Jul 21, 08, 6:09 am Can anyone just clarify for me how both these brands are different from each other? As far as I gather, they both try to bring the ultimate in luxury (by Starwood's definition) to the highest end market. What makes each label unique? LC has more Grand Dames and St. Regis has more modern ones but I feel that St. Regis NYC and Rome could fit very well into LC's portfolio. I hope you can shed light on this. Thanks. You can get a better answer in the SPG forum. PM a mod to have it moved there. ralfkrippner Jul 22, 08, 11:32 am Indeed so - I'll move this thread over to starwood with leaving a redirect in the Luxury Hotels forum. ralfkrippner, Interconti Hotels forum co-moderator DivMiler Jul 22, 08, 1:19 pm Can anyone just clarify for me how both these brands are different from each other? A thread (http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=372555) in 2004 talked a little about the (then) various Starwood brands at this website (http://development.starwoodhotels.com/). My post noted some details (again, this is from 2004): St. Regis: 40 years old, $235K Household Income Luxury Collection: 35-65 yo, $200K income So, not much difference in the target groups. While what I was quoting from in the other thread seems to be gone, you can go to the same site (http://development.starwoodhotels.com/), click on "Development Opportunities" and then "Starwood Brands" to get a short description of each brand. Starwood Lurker Jul 22, 08, 1:27 pm ...LC has more Grand Dames and St. Regis has more modern ones but I feel that St. Regis NYC and Rome could fit very well into LC's portfolio... Astute observation. From an internal perspective, all St Regis properties are really part of The Luxury Collection, but operate as a brand within a brand, if you will. The basic differences being noted in the site offered by DivMiler. Best regards, William R.
