Starwood Preferred Guest - Feb in Singapore??? Only St. Regis???

Hello All:

Can anyone shed some light on why the only Starwood property that is coming up with a rate for February is the St. Regis at 900 SGD per night???

We have been forced to book the Shangrila. Though most other hotel brands showed availability as well.

Le Meridian is being sold yes? But what about the Sheraton? Anything else I am missing?

Is Starwood so poorly represented in Singapore? This makes staying "within brand" difficult for me as the 900 SGD per night is not allowed by my company.

Thank you in advance.

In the past the Sheraton has been slow in loading rates. My guess is this is again the case. The hotel is bookable through 12/31/08, but none thereafter. Could one of our Lurkers please drop a hint to them?

If you go to the St. Regis website you will find rates of 560 SGD, at least for the nights in February I checked. Also check out the luxury romance package for 706 SGD including taxes, fees, breakfast, flowers and champagne.

I agree with Gene. The hotel simply hasn't loaded rates and dates yet.

Not to worry.

I happens quite often and I don't understand why a hotel would want to loose business by getting their work done to late ?

I was about to post something similar to BalluBallu did above. This has happened for the last several years at this property. They did have C&P rates loaded for January 2009 (and maybe later) but those have either been pulled or booked. I am in the process of booking an Asia trip for Jan 2009 and I like to get everything coordinated well in advance.

If the SIN St Regis (and many others) can do it, why can't the Sheraton?

Any update on this?

Hi gfowler-ord-1k,

Yes. As mentioned by other posters, the property has not provided any rates for 2009 as yet.

However, I have already written to the OP for further arrangements with the property. If any members need to arrange for accomodation in 2009 now, do contact the property directly for assistance.

Hope this helps.
