Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - No more Check-In machines at SZG
At SZG there are no longer Check-In machines. You have always to go to the Check-In counter to get your BP.
I spoke with the OS station manager at SZG and she told me, that they had to remove it because the passengers should use the OLCI and print out their boarding passes at home.

Hello
I realized this last Sunday. The explanation given sounds logical from OS point of view. It doesn't bother me too much since I am doing exactly what OS wants its PAX to do. OLCI , choosing a nice aisle seat and print out the BP.
Cheers

This is totally wired! I understand that OS wants us to use OLCI but therefore remove the check-in machines is just stupid IMHO. There are definitely better incentives for OLCI than removing check-in machines. BA seems to be a good example.

And it is nonsense, because you cannot use OLCI for all destinations; however, the kiosks gave you boarding passes for (at least some of) these too. Beijing is an example for this - could not OLCI today, but no problem to get my BP from the kiosk.

There is a big ski charter business in the winter times, so they will fly.

Ridicilous.... pushing OLCI by pulling Quick-CKI
That doesn't make sense to me! What about phone-CKI-pax, what about OLCI-pax without printout, what about pax without internet available, ...?
Do the Quick-CKI-machines - once installed - cost so much money?

Hey szg don't you think that this might be a lil bit of a too personal problem of yours to start a new thread about it?:p:D What's next?
"No more OJ in my fridge, I'm off to buy some" ? :D
On more serious note, I'm afraid that OS has already started the liquidation process from the Check-in machines!:D:p
I don't understand, why OS has removed the Check-In machines. It doen´t make sence, as bau31888 has mentioned.

In Innsbruck they have been gone for quite some while. I was told that's because no one ever used them.

i actually think this might be the reason in salzburg as well. i've never ever seen anyone using them. i much rather go to a counter anyway, there is never a long line and the staff is really nice and helpful...

Exactly. Now if they'd bring the newspapers at the check-in desk back, or at least near the gate like LH does at many stations.
