Other Car Rental Programs/Partners (ie. Alamo, Enterprise, Sixt) - Alamo at BWI

Does anyone know how convenient the rental area is at BWI and if Alamo allows you to choose the car you rent?

There is a shuttle bus from the terminal to the car rental facility. Easy to get to and easy to find the shuttle. There is only one shuttle, because all of the car rental places are in one building (if memory serves).

I don't recall if I had a choice of car when I rented from Alamo at BWI last year.
