Although I have had mixed experiences with Alamo in Kona previously I rolled the dice again last week since their rates were significantly better than anyone else. I am happy to report that this time they were great. Buses were waiting both ways, no lines for checking in or out and was offered "anything on the lot" for a $15/day upgrade. So, for under $50/day we ended up with a very nice Cadillac CTS.
