that had to stop to re-fuel on flights to JFK and is that still the case during the summer?

BUR and yes, on occasion. B6 moved one of the flights up a couple hours so that it would be a bit cooler at takeoff, allowing them to load additional fuel, but it still happens some days. They are relatively rare, but still ~1/month or so thus far this year. It might get worse as the weather heats up.

I haven't heard about any issues leaving LGB but BUR does seem to have the majority of the issues in the summer making it to the east coast.

A Short runway + a necissary steep climb due to lanscape in the area of BUR + summer heat = Eastbound fuel stop(s)

There were issues at LGB a few years ago due to runway paving - but that lasted only a few weeks. I think some flights were stopping in LAS and/or SLC for more fuel.

Now LGB has better record than BUR?

I haven't heard of any fuel stops for eastbound flights out of LGB. I'm not gonig to say it doesn't happen because i'm sure there are some circumstances that might require a fuel stop. I still think LGB is in the clear and BUR might still have some issues when it comes to eastbound, summer flights.
