Hello FT,

I would like to know if anyone has experience while traveling in Queretaro or general area and was able to rent cells phone there. If so, do you have any recommendations? What was the cost.

The goal is to simply be able to call other people in our group so we will probably rent 3-4 phones. Calling to the US would be nice but not mandatory since (hoping that the hotel will have internet access) Skype is available on my computer.

It would be great if you could direct me to a shop/store you know of.

Thanks for taking the time.

IMHO, and probably most people in this forum's too, it makes no sense to rent a phone in this day and age. If you do not already have a phone that will work there, get cheap unlocked GSM phones, and buy local prepaid sims. It will be a whole lot cheaper than renting phones.

1) Ask yourself whether you REALLY need a phone.
2) Renting, like the previous poster said, is expensive.
3) If you just need to contact people in your group, pick up some cheap walkie talkies at Costco. Just be sure to check whether they are legal in Mexico.
4) You could consider picking up a couple of prepaid mobile phones
5) If it really is just for emergencies, then just bring your own phone and pay the $1.50/minute. Just learn to keep it short! :)
