Have WinXP Pro, Xp Home & 98. Time to renew, so I need suggestions for an Anti Virus protection? Currently running CA Secuirty Suite 3.2.1.18 & was disappointed, so I do not want to renew. BTW unable to remove all of free Avast from the Win98 & it conflicts with CA Security Suite.
Thanks for the help

Seems like the 2007 & 2008 versions of lots of the major players have turned into huge, slow (sometimes crippling) products. Symantec, AVG, CA, and Panda certainly have. Probably something to do with having to work on Vista.
Try NOD32 from Eset. Smaller, quicker, seems to be more effective than most, and doesn't slow your system down. Also, check out Kaspersky, though NOD32 is better, IMHO.

If you are willing to pay for software, then I heartily recommend the McAfee Total Protection Service, http://mcafeeasap.com/intl/en/Default.asp?

Exactly what I came in to recommend. Free, updated frequently, and it works. Suppliment with housecall.trendmicro.com for online scanning. These days it really does take more than one product to keep the beast at bay.
