Hertz - TPA - No #1 Gold area/board/etc?

I have to say I am a little confused by the Hertz station at TPA. It's not like it's a small airport or anything. There is no #1 Gold anything there, just a roped off line for you to wait in to talk to the counter agents.
The agents there are pretty good IME, but what the heck is going on with that? Even at smaller airports that I've been to recently, like BUF, ORF, there is at least a #1 Gold kiosk or booth out by the cars.
(I just loathe waiting in line while Fred and Myrtle are having every single detail of their rental gone over ad nauseum, that's all) ;)

I was surprised, too, last year when I arrived in TPA and found the same situation. It is odd that Hertz doesn't have Gold service. The staff, though, were great -- had a puncture on the way to the airport early in the morning. Called Roadside Assistance. They called the location and local manager sent someone to pick me up and drove me straight to the terminal! ^^ Made the flight as the last person on!! I left the car by the side of the road and they came and picket it up later.

When I was there in September they had two queue lines, Gold and Non-Gold service, and the Gold line was very small and went very quickly (less then 2 minutes) while the next person in line in the regular service was still waiting from the time I entered the gold line to the time I got my keys.
Do they have only one queue line now?

No, there is a line for #1 Gold and a line for everyone else, but it all goes to the same counter. If the 2 agents back there are trying to explain the fuel pre-purchase option to George and Phyllis Nevurfly who are in town to see little Jimmy play a carrot in the 3rd grade pageant - well, suffice to say, you are going to be standing around for quite some time.

See, it wasn't like that in September, it went to the same counter, but there were dedicated agents on the left side for the Gold counter service and other agents on the right side, the individuals from the right (non-Gold) never saw the gold service reps.

The Hertz stations at TPA is terrible in my experience, and I'm not the only FT'er who has had problems with them (see this thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=827586) and the Worst Run Station thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=455906)). My recommendation is to avoid them altogether. Although they're offsite, I really like National at TPA.

That would certainly be better. But what would really be better is a big "name in lights" board so we can just go right to our cars like every other big station. I mean, I sorta thought that was the whole point of #1 Gold - no waiting in line and all that.
