My girlfriend is a loyal Elite Hilton Honors Reward member, and have booked us a weekend at the Grand Wailea in Maui. Well, I am Elite Marriott Rewards member, and booked us at the Marriott Wailea Beach Resort. Both are within $25 of price. Can you help us chose between the two.

Have friends just back from Maui. They stayed at the Marriott and report that it was not at all crowded. They visited Grand Wailea and said it was packed.

There is a large difference in price and ambiance between the noted hotels. Both have access to the same nice beaches, same climate and other items Maui has to offer.

The Grand Wailea is typically priced much higher than the Marriott. If you can get it for about the same price, I would stay there. It's also expensive when it comes to using points. I would agree that it can be more crowded. Depends on your likes/dislikes.
