California - HELP! Need Transportation ideas ONT-PSP.

OK. I booked a flight into ONT instead of PSP and am now kicking myself. :rolleyes:

I totally enjoy taking public transport when I travel. I get to see the non-tourist sights. But I am having trouble seeing ANY way to get from ONT to Palm Springs. (Except the $100 OW Super Shuttle :( )

Any ideas y'all?

It won't be fast, but...

1. Omnitrans bus 61 from ONT to the Fontana MetroLink station
2. Omnitrans bus 15 to the San Bernardino Greyhound station
3. Greyhound to Palm Springs.

There is also a Greyhound that runs from Claremont to Palm Springs. Looks like about 10 miles from ONT to Claremont, so probably an affordable cab ride. It's a little in the wrong direction, but might save you a transfer.

There is also Amtrak from San Bernadino or Riverside, but looks like it only runs 3 times a week, so I definitely wouldn't count on the timeliness of that.
