Any comments re CX Economy service to KUL via HKG from JFK? The schedule lists a 1 hr transit connection time in HKG to KUL. I wonder if adequate. Anyway, appreciate EY service comments on the route.
Thanks

YMMV. christep Jul 6, 08, 10:59 pm That's hardly "lost", assuming that your bags were put on the next flight to KUL and delivered to you wherever you were staying! But under normal circumstances a 1 hour CX-CX connection is fine for baggage. Things that might make it go wrong include there being a lot of thunderstorms around, which limit the ability of the staff to work out on the apron, hence delaying the off-loading and/or on-loading of bags. theclubsq Jul 6, 08, 11:37 pm I took one from LAX-HKG-KUL, but there's a diversion so my flight to HKG was delayed for 2 hours, that translates I missed my connecting flight. Depending on the month you're traveling, if there's no strong headwinds, 1 hour connection time is fine. I never had problem claiming my baggages from CX. Another thing is if you're a lounge person, then you may want to take a later flight from HKG-KUL, given that you have OW status. Just my two cents. NM Jul 8, 08, 2:22 am Personally I would looking for more than a 1hr connection at HKG. If your arriving and departing flights are at opposite ends of the terminal, it can take a long time to walk. Transit security can take anything from a few mins to 20+ mins depending on the time of day. Early Mornings can be busy with lots of long-haul overnight arrivals. acregal Jul 8, 08, 9:32 am Once I had a 50 minute connection in HKG and I made it (in addition to my luggage) with no problems (my flight was on-time). salfcl Jul 14, 08, 1:29 pm I did the HKG-KUL - 50 min connection time - in June. But I had to get a CX staff to help me get to the front of the line to clear security for the transfer flight. The transfer security folks won't let you jump queue without a CX staff telling them to let you in. |
