Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - How do I book a ticket for my 3 yr old (without parents)?

Ok before you pounce on me, here are the facts:

Dad will travel with her in one direction
Mom will travel with her in the other direction

I can't seem to book a ticket for a child without booking one for an adult. I am sure this has been done before, so could someone please help me out?

I'm so glad you clarified that. My 3yo needs an adult to accompany him up the stairs, let alone on a flight :)

Is your problem wanting a return ticket for the child and two one ways for the adults? The simplest way might be to book two x one ways for the child as well. If you want a return ticket, you might need to call the airline to ask. I always have to deal directly with the airlines when arranging travel for my oldest child as an unaccompanied minor. They seem to have people on staff who are familiar with all different family travel situations and will have worked out how to deal with it before.

If you indicate the specific airline you are traveling on, you may get better information.

However, in general, as Kimberley said, you will need to call the airline to make this happen.... should be no problem.... as long as the mother and father have their tickets booked as well.

I fly with my kid, leave her with grandparents and return.
Mom flies out later, picks her up and returns.
(one of us stays with her pretty much throughout)

So these are truly 3 roundtrips. One ways price out to a lot. Yes I will have to call the airline to get this booked.

It seems that you can just get her a ticket. You can do that (and the other two tickets) through a travel agent (preferred IMHO) or on cathaypacific.com.

She will not be an UM, but you should link the record locators so that CX will know that and seat you together.
