Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Very long "transit" - bags checked through?

Hi all
I am flying with mrssimongr syd-hkg-jfk next week. We arrive in HKG at 22:30 on Monday and depart 18:40 on Tuesday. We are staying at the Conrad overnight (I have a few spare HHonors points ;)).
Is it possible to check our bags through to JFK and not have to collect them in HKG?
It would make life easier and I am not overly concerned that the bags may go missing in HKG - it seems to be a fairly reliable airport for bags.

You used to be able to, but I heard they changed the rules for overnight bags recently. If worst comes to worst they do have a bag storage place in landside.

Thanks for that - might decide to take them with us then - we have a "limo" service booked so no train struggles for us at least.

Pity you couldn't upgrade to F Class as JFK is definitely one of the routes to really sample the new F Class

We have only one F flight on the trip (syd-hkg-jfk-lhr-lca-lhr-hkg-sin-syd) and that is the last one SIN-SYD - it was that or fly in whY hkg-syd :eek:

You can have the bags checked through. As long as the 'transit' period is less than 24 hours, you can request the bags checked through. I do this all the time (evening arrival in HKG, depart the next morning). Bags always make it.
