We are a family of six travelling on Cathay from Melbourne to London over Hong Kong T1. 2 of our carry-on suitcases are slightly bigger than the allowed size.
Do any of you have any experience if they are very strict with this in the Melbourne Airport or generaly Cathay? If so - Do you have to pay a fee to get it on board?

Any help appriciated.

Depends what you mean by slightly bigger...

If it is not a hard type case, it wont be too obvious unless your having issues carrying it.

Generally I have found MEL to be quite lax in terms of carryon size.

hi, thanks for the reply.

The suitcase is soft (63 x 42 x 27). Allowed is: (56x36x23) so its not much bigger. I guess they wont pay much attention to it then.:D
