Hilton HHonors - Looking for ways to earn MORE Hilton points

I checked the sticky and the old thread but there wasn't much new information there - hope some of you might have some creative ideas I haven't thought of yet!

I recently signed up for the HHilton Amex where I'll earn 42500 points after my $1500 spend is completed. My goal is two AXON awards for next spring (250000 pts). I do plan on putting $20,000 on the card before the end of the year, which will get me Gold status and, if I play my cards right, between 90000-100000 pts. But beyond that I'm looking for other ways I can maximize my points other than just with spending.

I do have a Hilton stay reserved for two rooms at the end of July, which should get me 7000 pts, but I don't foresee needing any more hotel rooms this year.

This weekend I signed up for the Am Ex Business Gold MR card, where I'll get 25000 MR points after $1000 spend. Once I get the 25000 pts, I'll be transferring those to Mexicana air, and then transfer to HHonors, which will net me 50000 HHonors points.

I also utilized the Hilton earnings mall this weekend - Clarins was offering 20 pts per dollar, and I needed some products, so I made a $100 purchase which will net me 2000 pts. ^

What else you got for me? :) I don't mind taking a dip in my credit score by applying for new cards, so if there are any other cards out there where I can apply for points/mileage and then transfer to Hhilton, I would love to hear about them.

Do you have anyone else in your household who charges? If so, you can get them an amex and have the points post to your account.

This will only get you 1 point / $ though instead of the 3 and 5.

Yeah, I got my husband a card when I signed up so that I could get the 2500 pt bonus.

If you have a spouse or partner who is willing to focus on HHonors points accumulation, he or she could sign up for a Hilton Amex (or similar card) with a good promotional offer. Then each of you could redeem points for an AXON award (assuming that you'd be travelling together).

Also, there's a thread somewhere about buying US presidential coins (which you then deposit at the bank).

Sign up for an AA credit card, and then transfer 2:1 ($25 fee) to Hilton.

I use my AA miles - and 5 Citi AA cards already. I don't really want to lose my AA miles.

Blase,

I would double check the fine print on the MR to Mexicana then double points to Hilton before you do this transfer. I know that late in 2007 when I was looking to move MR over to Hilton to maximize the points that the prior Hawaiian airline option had been closed so I thought had the other airlines like Mexicana. If this is still open I would appreciate the update.

Thanks.

I'd do a search on Mexicana and Hilton - I think I recall some saying they had problems transferring points out of MX in the past?

There is a post on the AMEX board that says the transfer trough Mexicana does not work anymore. I have no personal knowledge in this though.

Cheers

My wife's card still gets 3 or 5 points. Either that or she gets 1 and I'm getting 7 to 9.

Same here.

My understanding is that any supplemental card charges receive the same amount of points per dollar?

Play club.live.com (http://club.live.com)(see SPAM (http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=775734) forum) and redeem for AA rewards. Then transfer to Hilton. You can earn a little more than 1,000 HHonor points (or 500 AA miles) per day using this route. Though, as discussed in the related forum, it is a commitment of about two hours per day or relentless game play to max out.
