American Express Membership Rewards - ExpressPay for Platinum?

Now that AMEX has killed the perfectly functional and useful ExpressPay key fob one could request with their AMEX PLATINUM, is there any word of an ExpressPay capable AMEX PLATINUM to be issued in the near future? I have no desire to add another credit card to my wallet purely for the function, however, as a key fob, or embedded in my current card, I would use it every day. Is AMEX simply waiting for us to go RFID with our mobiles?

I was not even aware that it was availble for Amex Platinum charge cards. :(

Could you just get a free blue card and use it for a few purchases?

The point is that I do not want a "free" or otherwise other type of AMEX card simply for the ExpressPay functionality. I have trimmed my wallet, by have one card for simply ExpressPayments. The key fob was great. It was tiny and unobtrusive. I already had my key out normally when I wanted to use the device. I have no idea why it was cut. I certainly was never asked by AMEX what I thought about it. But now that it is gone and my fob deactivated by AMEX, are there any plans of issuing or making available an ExpressPay capable Platinum card? Has AMEX simply decided that Plat users do not want or use ExpressPay?
On the other hand, I am all about this, if this is a sign of impending cooperation between AMEX and RFID through mobile phones. But lets be real, I do not see that happening for a while.
