Kind of surprised no one has discussed this card yet. Just saw it:

Asiana American Express® Card from Bank of America - Quote:

"Earn 2 miles for every 1 dollar in purchases.
Every purchase goes twice as far." ^

Any thoughts on the card or the Asiana program.? Saw that miles will expire after 5 years (7 for elites). Otherwise, when flying Asiana's mileage bonuses are ridiculous (for both C and F class AND elies) :td:

$100,000 cap...

You can earn up to 200,000 miles on the Card each calendar year, excluding first use bonus miles and additional miles earned at participating grocery store locations.

Star Alliance redemptions are distance based...

I have the BofA Asiana Airline Visa Card, mostly for credit rebuilding purposes but I plan to next year turn that into a Asian Airline AMEX card once I get good enough credit. I have heard nothng but good things about Asian Airlines.

If meant as a generic statement about all Asian airways, try flying PIA...
(sorry, I know it's probably a typo, but I couldn't help it.)

Flew Asiana twice, was both time booked in Eco and both time upgraded to F, either due to *G or my flirting with the check-in-agent......makes me want to fly them again ;)

(also, had nothing to complain about, really, on the flights -- and back on-topic, I'd get the card if only it was issued where I'm about....)

Asiana is a great airline with a mediocre frequent flyer program. The program requires quite a few miles for awards and has the typical surcharges on awards for programs not based in the US.
The advantages are the easiest lifetime *G status and the low thresholds for *G status.

With 2 miles for every $ spent, this is a fantastic deal to book your next holidays however.
