Anyone have any idea what kind of quality I can expect on a business class flight from Houston-DeGaulle-Tel Aviv on Air France? Served on real china or just an improvised plastic economy meal with a label saying "Business Class Meal". I know AF used Servair which is supervised by the Paris Beit Din, but what about a flight originating in USA?

Also, the arrivals lounge in CDG for L'espace Affaires (business) class offers breakfast. Anyone know if I can request a kosher meal in the lounge for when I arrive? I've already asked the agents over the phone and they have no clue.

Any help would be appreciated.

My experience in AF Business is that the meal is not a dressed up economy class meal. You will get real plates, real linen, real silverware, actual glassware, etc. The appetizer, main course and desserts are of good quality, as is the wine selection.

That may be true for a regular Business class meal, but US$100 says that you won't get that for a KSML on AF ex HOU.

And you won't get anything close to a decent wine with a KSML. I did sometimes take my own bottle of something drinkable but not now, of couse, with the 100ml limit.

But I did get a half bottle of kosher sparkling wine onto the BA164 ex TLV last summer (from TLV Duty Free) and they served it as a Kir Royale to my 10-year-old daughter (not all of it, though!) She absolutely loved it! A very sensible way to interpret the rules on BA's part, we thought.
