Hello all,
I visited the Hilton Columbia Center for a weekend in April; somehow I never found the time to post my impressions before now.
The hotel is in downtown Columbia, near the University of South Carolina campus (I'd abbreviate it USC except for the inevitable confusion). The front faces a street which is one floor above the parking garage entrance on the sloped side street, so the second floor of the parking garage is level with the first floor of the hotel - confusing if you don't first enter the hotel from the garage (I wasted some time looking for the hotel-to-garage entrance on the hotel's second floor before I remembered the topology). Everything still looks brand new (it opened a couple of years ago), both in the public spaces and in both rooms I saw. Staff was both welcoming and competent. My bathroom had the 8 inch diameter makeup mirror that can be found in some Hiltons and Doubletrees. There is no executive lounge, but breakfast was comped even though I had selected the 1000 points. Best of all, there is a Ruth's Chris on site with impeccable service. I earned points for the stay and the $ spent at Ruth's Chris, but not at the parking garage.
If I ever need to go back to Columbia, I will definitely try to book here again.
