Can anyone recommend best options for Hilton properties near Ipswitch?

I am currently planning to stay in London and taking the early morning train for the 1-hr ride out to Ipswitch. I didn't see any options near Ipswitch with the online booking.

I've never been to the UK, btw, so you're talking to a UK newbie.

That part of the UK isnt well served by Hiltons.

Cambridge is probably closest but London is only approx 25 miles further so although Cambridge is a nice place to visit, I'd say London is a much better bet for a newbie to the UK although hotels will undoubtedly cost more whatever time of year you visit.

Maybe Cambridge will be better if you're having to foot the bill yourself.

The company is paying for it. London sounds more fun for first time UK visit, and from what I read online, the rail system sounds excellent.

Just kidding, Cambridge is indeed the only property anywhere near Ipswich, but unless you have a car it would likely take you longer to get there than it would from London. There is sporadic Cambridge-Ipswich train service, good London (Liverpool Street)-Ipswich service.

Tower Bridge because it is 1.7 miles from Liverpool Street Station which is supposed to have an hour trani to Ipswitch that runs up to 4 times per hour during peak periods.

I probably have to be in Ipswitch between 9-10am. I can take taxi from train station in Ipswitch.

Stayed at tower bridge one time in standard room ,good enough for your requirments & close by taxi if you want to visit the west end.

My favourite hotel is the Trafalgar, great location & nice bars including a roof top in the summer. Will be staying there next week.

...the rail system sounds excellent.I've heard it called a lot of things, but "excellent" hardly ever is on the list.

As noted earlier, if you really want to stay in a Hilton someplace close to Liverpool St. is your best bet. I'd opt for the Waldorf Hilton or Euston Hilton. They are each considerably closer to Liverpool Street Station than the Tower Bridge location. This map shows Liverpool Street in the middle (with an arrow) and the relative locations of the Hilton properties (http://maps.google.com/maps?near=Liverpool+Street+Station+%4051.518998,-0.123596&geocode=&q=hilton&f=l&dq=liverpool+street+station+loc:+London,+UK&ie=UTF8&ll=51.518784,-0.123639&spn=0.021444,0.042615&t=h&z=15).

FWIW, personally I hate commuting and I'd just stay in Ipswich.
