Lots of grumblings over at the United forum. With UA pulling completely out of FLL and PBI, there are no other convenient options out of IAD except B6. I will be flying B6 much more now.

Brigri Jun 26, 08, 10:06 am Mileageaddict, welcome aboard. I'm sure B6 will deliver above and beyond what TED ever could have. I will be flying B6 much more now. Its rough being forced over to an airline with personal televisions. I can't say the B6 one ups UA in the FF program or the upgrades but atleast you'll being getting free satelitte TV, a decent onboard staff, and leather seats with a fair amount of leg room compared to most legacies. MileageAddict Jun 26, 08, 11:45 am I've flown B6 a number of times and have enjoyed it very much. My only loss is mileage and status accumulation with UA. JAX2BOS Jun 26, 08, 12:40 pm And what's even more crazy is that FLL used to be a crew base for UA.. We have tons of FLL UA commuters on us out of BOS... JetBlueFA Jun 26, 08, 6:46 pm Yesterday we had 10 United Pilots and Flight Attendants. They knew of the news yesterday and many where not happy but they usually prefer to fly us up to IAD as we have a FLL-IAD arrival that is perfectly timed for many of them who fly the international departures out of IAD to Europe. But it is still nice to have your own airline as a backup incase we fill up and don't have any spare jumpseats. bmg42000 Jun 26, 08, 8:28 pm It must seem odd to have United pilots choose B6 to fly on. But thats one of the few perks airline employees get these days . JAX2BOS Jun 26, 08, 9:37 pm It must seem odd to have United pilots choose B6 to fly on. But thats one of the few perks airline employees get these days . Offliners love us. Why? We don't oversell 99.99% of the time. They know once they reach they gate, or sometimes earlier, if they have a shot. Added bonus? We allow use of our jumpseats. We don't get to ride other airlines' jumpseats, cabin seats only, with a couple of exceptions. JetBlueFA Jun 27, 08, 8:01 am Like JAX2BOS said we don't oversell and don't have many FLL-IAD commuters of our own. So if there isn't any IROPs going on they stand a very good shot getting on. Even if full we have 5 spare jumpseats (2 cockpit 3 flight attendant) that they can ride on. Most of them know the counter and gate agents so find out rather quickly if they are going to get on and get a cabin seat. |
