Screeners at the nation's airport checkpoints don't take tips.
But they will definitely keep the change -- more than $1 million in the past three years from airline passengers who forgot coins at security checkpoints.
More than $63,000 of that was left at O'Hare Airport by passengers who drop their change in plastic bins that go through X-ray machines.

I knwo when I was leaving las vegas i emptied my pockets with a lot of small change and couldnt be bothered to pick it all up as i wouldnt be able to change it when i went home so i only took the notes and left the coins as it was an inconvenienece and i guess that is what most people do

"The TSA has fired screeners for keeping change, including one "terminated for theft of a nickel and two pennies," says spokeswoman Sterling Payne."
Now it becomes clear. Ever since that story got out, one passenger has been leaving 7 cents at every checkpoint, hoping that for the small expenditure of $3360 all 48,000 screeners might get fired and we would be rid of TSA. Yes, no doubt, ALL that loose change was left by Spiff.

It was on the CBS nightly news last night, apparently people have left approximately $90k worth of change in LAX, compartively people at NYC airports have left less then $700.00 in 2007.
