The group (http://www.myfoxcolorado.com/myfox/pages/Home/Detail;jsessionid=682564B0D56C03365DA40F8C1C397436 ?contentId=6834981&version=3&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=1.1.1&sflg=1)says in a press release that the idea will address the growing number of in-flight problems involving drunk and disorderly passengers. Members claim marijuana is a better alternative to alcohol to help more fliers relax and deal with the anxiety of air travel.

So this is one way to calm down upset pax awaiting their connection or being delayed because of various causes.

I guess the only problem would be if you had a group of them on the plane and they got the munchies really bad.:p They could eat the plane dry.

Imagine going through security with your stash and assuring TSA it is ok because you're going to the smoking room? Could make for some interesting conversations.

Funny Story..^

I have a good friend who likes to have a hash brownies before a long haul flight to help him chill and sleep. The problem is, when you eat drugs, they take a couple of hrs to kick in. Usually he ingests the brownie on the way to the airport, so by the time he's checked in , goes to lounge /gate, it has just begun to work.

This worked well for him till recently, when he arrived at the airport to find out his Air Canada flight to Toronto was delayed 7hrs...... Ended up being quite messed up in the lounge and needed to be woken repeadly to get to his flight..Told the Lounge attendant he had taken sleeping pills :D

Still a citable offense in California, so not sure that's going to work here.

If this was widely adopted (lol), the airlines would surely see a decrease in passenger misadventures. Unless, of course, there is only one Hershey's bar left somewhere......:D
