Other North & South America Frequent Flyer Programs - Lan Award booking problem

I am having difficulty booking a LAN business award online to Peru. I live in Houston which is not a Lan Gateway.

AA offers a flight from Houston to Miami, but it does not offer it in business (only first or coach)

Lan does not offer flights in First to Peru from Miami (only business or economy)

Therefore, I can't find any availabilty because if I try to book in business, then none of the American flights show available and if I try to book in first, then none of the Lan flights are available. Quite frustrating...

Do I need to contact the Lan call center to book this kind of ticket? It is kind if surprising as I would think this would be a common problem for Lanpass account holders in non-gateway cities.

It seems to be a funny thing - I'm not a Lanpass member, but when I've tried to book a Lan ticket online in J/D, and book the connecting flights to/from LAX/MIA/JFK, sometimes it only wants to pair it with Y, other times, with the front (or middle, if 3) cabin.

It is a common problem, the easiest way around it (I was explained by a LAN agent) is by booking two separate reservations (reservations are good for 72 hours), one for the aa leg (in first) and one for the lan leg (in biz) and then calling to combine. Their call center is open until 11pm or midnight.

In addition, I assume that you reccomend the method below for inter-country flights. Lan only offers business on International flights and not domestic. Therefore, it sounds like I would need to make 3 online reservations and have them combined.

IAH-MIA --First -- Reservation 1
MIA-LIM -- Business Reservation 2
LIM-PEM -- Coach Reservation 3

Hopefully, the call center will understand.

Do they waive the call centre booking fee in these cases?
