Bearbear Jun 24, 08, 11:30 pm Your question is pretty general. Do you mean which area? Or a specific facility? If you restate the question you may get answers. I would probably want a place on or very near the lake. On the other hand, you may get the best bang for your buck at a ski resort such as North Star. I think the best place is Incline Village but you need to may sure your lodging includes beach access. It isn't automatic. JerryFF Jun 25, 08, 1:08 am Tahoe is actually a very diverse area. The South Shore is quite built up, with the large casinos on the Nevada side just across the border. The North Shore is more rustic and quiet, with just a few casinos on the Nevada side. It would be important to decide what type of experience is important to you and what type of accomodations you are looking for. The casinos on the South Shore are very upscale hotels - especially Harrahs, Harveys, and Mont Bleu (formerly Caesar's) - with some big name entertainment. On the California side there is a wide range of hotel/motels, from Embassy Suites to Days Inn and Travelodge. On the North Shore, the Hyatt at Incline Village is a beautiful resort, and if you don't necessarily want to be on the lake, you can check out Squaw Valley and the upscale Resort at Squaw Creek. There are many small motels on the north shore as well. primusux Jul 4, 08, 4:48 pm I'll 2nd the Hyatt l'etoile Jul 4, 08, 6:03 pm Sunnyside http://www.sunnysidetahoe.com/index.cfm?siteID=1 |
