While I will love to have you visit my hometown, this forum is about maximizing mileage. Specific requests for fare help such as yours are against the rules.
That being said: SYR-LAS is a rough route. If you can find your way to BOS or MHT, you may do better. Check YYZ too. Otherwise, amtrak it to jfk then take Virgin America down for $300. You can use the stickied threads to try to find a better fare and then find a routing with availability. All being said, given the reductions in service to LAS, lack of advance booking, high petrol cost, and lack of lcc competition on your route, you end up stuck paying m500.

According to FC (farecompare.com), you're stuck with Jet Blue for that fare - assuming that's what you have.

If you want help, you really need to provide more details, such as what airline you're finding the fare on.
And I have to agree with Mrp Alert, that's a small market you're flying from, so your choices will be limited, and most likely costly.
