I just fly American once or twice a year. Next week is one of those times and I have a long layover at ORD. Figure that I spend it in the Admiral's Club now that that benefit has been added.

Couple of questions:
(1) Previously it was discussed that you do not get free wi-fi access in the club. Still true?

(2) Is there other hookups available for a computer - like a cable connection and does that cost?

(3) Is there a free terminal to at least check one's email.

I really can't stand paying for internet access just to get a jump on things by several hours (if it was several days at a hotel, I typically pay).

thanks................

(1) Still true.

(2) There are no other hookups available for a computer unless you want to dial up. And if you try pulling the ethernet cable from the back of one of the AA terminals, you'll have to log in with a t-mobile account, so no free internet that way either.

(3) All clubs that I've been to have at least a few lenovo terminals from which you can connect to the internet on a complimentary basis. In this day and age of most folks having a laptop with either a hotspot connection or mobile broadband card, I seldom see people using the free terminals. YMMV.

Yes, I guess a lot of people believe that Internet access should be free. Not just in lounges but everywhere. Me, I think that fine chocolates should also be free in all airport lounges.

You could also strike up a conversation with someone who is a member sitting near you and have him/her sign you onto the service with their membership number.

I bet soon there will be a thread trading numbers :)
