Budget Travel - missed spirit $17 each way special

yesterday I was right at the computer when they announced the $17 each way tickets with spiritair.com

I was online and tried to book it since it was annouced couple minutes prior to my reservation. For some reason, the website was going chaotic and it kept saying error and service unavailable. I decided to call them, but was on hold for a long time. I couldnt get the $17 each way deal, going there at least. On the hone I was told i was all sold out. Wierd, b/c as soon it was announced it seemed as it was sold out already. That being said

I am looking for great discounted flights from Detroit to Miami, or Fort Lauderdale. Would be best for R/T but if there is a deal for One way I'll take it too.

Spirit sales regularly recur...unless you need the ticket pretty soon it may pay to wait. Usually they have a "good" one once every 1-2 weeks, but the dates available do tend to be the slow ones. It rewards the flexible.

I'm going to wait another week and see. My family came down from Europe and they want to go to few places, i told them spirit has cheap tickets if they want to go to many different places to visit. Much better then paying regular prices that way, seeing few places compared just to one if paying regular flights.

Hopefully, I'll get lucky and I'll catch the sale.

What is the best way to find out about the specials as soon as they come available? Check on the website or wait for an email?

I always get the email the day after the special started. I check the website several times a day, usually morning, afternoon and night. Unfortunately, still have not found a deal for the dates that I need.

Ryanair manages, and is one of the most profitable airlines in the world. Spirit is much more restrictive than Ryanair about its super-cheap fares (only allowing on a handful of days, and only on roundtrips so you usually end up paying a higher fare for at least one leg, etc) so I don't see why they would lose more by doing so.

I must say that I can not complain about spirit b/c I am flying to vegas tomorrow and coming back on 29th however b/c of the time zones my flight lands on the 30th. Not much clarity on their website, or maybe it was shown in the little letters below that I did not catch. I have called spirit regards to this confusion, and it took about a week and a half to get a hold of someone that could of done something about it. they said they will change it b/c of the confusion otherwise they can not modify b/c its a special ticket.

I very much like spirit for that however, yes you can only fly what dates they give you. I ended up buying a ticket to NYC for $9 which was $49 round trip. Dates were suitable for me. I am pretty content so fair however I will try ryanair as well

anyways, I am trying to find cheap tickets to Europe from Detroit or worse case scenario if its a big price difference then from Chicago. I am traveling to England London for about a month or month and a half.

i'll be staying in London for a week, going to Poland for the rest of the time however, if i also find good deals I wouldnt mind going to Egypt to the all inclusive resort
