MONTREAL, QUEBEC, Jun 18, 2008 (Marketwire via COMTEX)
Today, Marriott Hotels & Resorts of Canada is proud to open its tenth property in Quebec with the province's first Fairfield Inn & Suites, solidifying Marriott's continued growth and commitment to the province of Quebec.
This announcement follows recent accolades for Marriott properties in Quebec, including the Residence Inn Downtown Montreal's Grand Prix award from Tourism Quebec for outstanding tourism products and services; and Marriott's 'Hotel of the Year' award given to the Courtyard Quebec City, recognizing the property as top-performer in Marriott select-service brands across North America.
"Our focus in Quebec reflects the growing demand from our clients for business and leisure travel in the region," says Ron Harrison, President of Marriott Hotels & Resorts of Canada. "Quebec offers travellers an unparalleled experience in Canada, and by extending the high-quality service Marriott offers across the province, we hope to meet the demand of our customers and encourage more travel to the region."
Located within close proximity to Montreal-Trudeau International Airport, the new Fairfield Inn & Suites Montreal Airport offers 162 guest rooms and suites, all equipped with Wi-FiTM technology, LCD HD televisions, and spacious accommodations. The custom interior of the property was designed by Nicole Vekemans and evokes the styling of a trendy Montreal boutique hotel while providing guests with Marriott's renowned customer service and a range of amenities, including complimentary daily continental breakfast, a full-service lobby bar, 24-hour fitness facilities with indoor pool, and free airport shuttle service. Several environmentally friendly systems were also incorporated into the design, including using Thermo-Wheel(R) air recycling; a hot water system with high-efficiency, low-consumption burners; programmable lighting to provide dimmed interior lights during off-peak hours; and in-room thermostats to control temperatures when guestrooms are vacant, significantly saving energy.
Owner Quint Hotels opened its first hotel in 1976 in Brossard, QC, and acquired three other properties including two hotels at the Montreal-Trudeau International Airport. The Fairfield Inn & Suites Montreal Airport is the latest addition to the company and the first Marriott property owned and operated by Quint Hotels. "We wanted to add a prestige brand to our portfolio of hotels and Marriott came as our first choice," says Theodore Quint, President of Quint Hotels. "Our goal is to ensure that the associates are provided with the proper support and tools to deliver exceptional guest service and create a memorable experience in our hotels for our valued customers."
In addition to the Fairfield Inn & Suites Montreal Airport, Marriott is developing another hotel in the area scheduled to open in 2009. The full-service Montreal Airport Marriott will connect to the airport via a walkway and, combined, these properties will serve as core area-hotels offering convenience to Montreal travellers.
"As a first-time GM with Marriott, I'm proud to work with a team who will offer guests the excellent service they've come to expect from Marriott properties," says Jacques Lapierre, General Manager of the Fairfield Inn & Suites Montreal Airport. "I look forward to providing travellers with an authentic Quebecois experience they won't soon forget!"
