I'm looking to get from Amsterdam to Stockholm (one-way) at the end of July. Can someone recommend the best way to do this? Most of the flights I have seen thus far are $200+. Do you know of any low-cost airlines that make this trip? All I have found is Sterling (100+ euros)

Thanks!

Hate to say it, but around $200 sounds about right. I just checked a random date at the end of july on ITA and found a one-way SAS for $187.

Are you looking for the best way or the cheapest way? I think that Sterling (@ €100) is probably the best option in terms of convenience and price.

If you're looking for something cheaper, you could do a Ryanair/Easyjet combo through London STN for sub $100 all-in (I checked on July 31st, and got a price of $88; there might be other dates available). This would take basically all day and would feature travel on two less-than-desirable airlines, so I doubt that it's worth the financial savings.

How does Ryanair come into this? Easyjet fly AMS-STN and STN-CPH. No need to slum it and use Ryanscare. Easyjet is generally considered to be one of the better LCCs.

Ryanair flies from Eindhoven to NYO ("Stockholm" Skavsta). "Düsseldorf" Weeze could also be an option. Not that I recommend FR... :D

Eindhoven = Amsterdam South or Brussels North, whatever you like.

It wont be cheaper then EasyJet but less flying time. I found that buying around-trip tkt was always cheaper then a 1 way. So once I got to where I needed to be , I simply threw the return portion away.

I needed to fly GOT-ZRH, and ZRH-AMS 2 different Carriers as I wanted non-stops, so I purchased 2 round-trip tkts and flew only 1 way on each

The OP indicated that the final destination is Stockholm, not CPH. As far as I know Easyjet doesn't fly to Stockholm.

Sorry... I don't know how I could get those two mixed up (both places I know well). I can only assume that I must have had Copenhagen on my brain for some reason.

OK, I guess it would have to be Ryanair. Personally I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole any more (I am talking as an ex-customer). But leaving aside my personal opinion of Ryanair I still wouldn't recommend an Easyjet-Ryanair itinerary via STN. It's a lot of hassle (STN is a zoo!), and one would need to allow a lot of time in between the flights to collect and re-check baggage and to stand in those long slow-moving check-in and security lines.

Still think Eindhoven-Skavsta is the way to go. Much less hassle than flying via STN.

Ryanair from Eindhoven to Skavsta is worth considering, though after spending €20+ for the marginal cost of getting to Eindhoven and Skavsta (as compared to Schiphol and Arlanda), Ryanair no longer seems very attractive compared to Sterling (which flies AMS-ARN for €70 on July 28, €92 on July 30). I would probably try to take the train (currently €107 if booked online in advance, but would eliminate transport costs at each end) but as it would take all day I suspect I am almost alone in this regard.
