bmi diamond club - GUV's and telephone check-in

I am travelling with bmi tomorrow for the first time since getting gold and as the rest of my travels for the year are unlikely to involve them (whilst travelling in Y), I would like to use my GUV's. My partner and I are travelling together but on separate itin's. I want to use them for both of us; would telephone check-in make a difference or does it simply come down to the discretion of the GA?

Telephone check in won't really help, although you can ask them to put a note in your booking that you would like to use a GUV.

Generally from LHR they tell you whether you can use them at check in, except if the flight is busy in J and they are not sure, in which case you may need to wait to the gate. MAN long haul is usually at the gate.
