Has anyone rented one of these?
Not sure if I could fit it in but the price is better than all others, and since I never tried Thrifty before I'm going to give them a shot.
Wonder if this will be like my Budget experience in Aruba where the old Toyota Yaris (manual) I got was ready to fall appart, and when I brought it back to exchange it for another car they only offered to give me a full refund and let me book somewhere else.

well.... after some further research I was able to get a Hyundai Getz for the same price as the Atos with the 10% AMEX discount.
The car was neat upon arrival. I was thinking that SXM like AUA would have the car rental at the airport but you do have to take a shuttle a short distance away from the terminal.
I took the recomendations made on this and other boards serious and requested a car with French plates... also it had dings and scrapes on it, which I guess goes along with the whole deterent idea, although we never left any bags in it while out and about. The car had 15k kilometers on the odo, and felt great... although going uphill it needed some boost, but anyway so long as A/C worked we didn't really care.
Other piece of advise I got was to get gas on the French side, which I did. But out of habit I gave them my credit card which made a $27 fill up 27 Euro fill up which showed up as $42 on my statement. I did realize I made a mistake and had they cancel the transaction and paid in cash, but either way... gotta remember for next time.
Saint Martin and the day trip to Anguilla were outstanding I'd highly recommend! And do rent a car, Thrifty and Dollar were in the same facility and had the best rates, the little Dhaitsu Copans they had on the lot looked awesome, but wouldn't fit our luggage, lol
