The OMNI Awards Committee of Rudi Martel and CATMAN has met and is about to announce the latest winner of this coveted prize!!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

The Envelope please EDDIE (And stop eating it!) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

And the OMNI goes go...

NJ DAVID!!! (DAVID DANTO!!!) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Dave: you are being honored by the Committee for your FlyerTalk photo gallery which has allowed the members of this board to see the faces behind the names. You are also being saluted for keeping up the board and updating it with new pictures and the new candid gallery.

Again: As Dave said in an earlier post: Don't be afraid to send in your pictures. Even Camera Shy Me did!

Rudi will be posting (sending) you the OMNI award when he gets to Chicago on March 8th.

Congratulations Dave, I hope you and your family enjoy your OMNI.

Long may your FlyerTalk Photo gallery fly!

I'm touched and honored. Thank you.

Actually, it was award enough to find a group of people who were as crazed about miles and points and upgrades and such as I was. Either we're all OK or we're all a little off, but in any case, I'm no longer alone in the quest.

Setting up and maintaining the Photo Gallery (as well as reading the Flyertalk posts) give me brief but enjoyable diversions from my very crazy workday and workplace. It is the least I can do to in return for you all preserving my sanity.

Thanks!

Congrats also from YAZ & EDDIE, who thanks to your board are winning more fans (human and feline) than I am!!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

But you made a good point about the importance of having something to take us away from the crazy work-a-day world we live in. For you: It's maintaining your now award winning photo gallery (Maybe you should promo it as that!)

For me it's going on F-T after a daily and often frustrating workgrind and being among friends and sometimes laughing (and sometimes having my hair stand on end with some postings referring to your's truly!)

Thankfully we also have families (or in my case just the cats) when it's necessary to step away from the computer.

SO SEND THOSE PIXS TO NJDAVE! ESPECIALLY A CERTAIN TEXAN WHO'S CURRENTLY IN ANIMATED FORM WHO MY FRIENDS ARE CURIOUS TO PUT A FACE BEHIND!!!

AGAIN: MAY NJDAVE"S GALLERY FLY LONG & PROUD!

Congratulations NJDAVID!! And keep up the great work with the pics. As I said once before, as soon as arturo's picture appears, JAWs will make available the most handsome photo of a boot ever made.

My OMNI award was presented in person (at the Boston meeting) by Matt Wald.

Rudi recruited him to make a personal delivery and speech.

Now my wife Helen, who accompanied me to Boston for this "flyer thing", and who had no idea why we would all want to get together on this "blind date" is sitting next to me while I receive the beautiful words, and gift of travel tips and swiss chocolates. Now I have to explain why I am being honored by these nice people I had never met, and being given a present from someone overseas who isn't even there by someone who flew with him to SJU for no reason whatsoever.

While most everyone else stayed out a bit later than Helen and I for drinks and Cubans, I spent the next hour explaining all of this to her. Now she has promised to choose a handle and participate in the Flyertalk herself (as a One Pass Silver Elite, of course).

In any case, many, many thanks To Rudi and all for the gifts and the honor. Much, much more on Boston over the next few days.......
