Can anyone tell me what the benefits are to the Amex Platinum card is? The yearly fee is $425 but you get 4 free comp flights per year and so much more.
Can I transfer the points I now have in my Amex Gold rewards card to my Platinum card? Do the Platinum points transfer to Hilton Honors or Marriott at a higher percentage than 1300 Honors points for every 1000 Amex points?

No need to transfer, the new card will be linked to your existing Membership Rewards account and it will be re-coded as Membership Rewards First. The transfer rate to Hilton, and all other partners, is exactly the same.

the comp flights aren't worth it IMO and for HH transfer I would wait for a 1.5x promo

The card has been worthwhile for me, in large part because of the domestic companion 2-for-1. Note that the annual fee for the US card is $450, not $425.
Also, you should try to get at least 25,000 MR points, or some other similar incentive for signing up.

I have had my platinum card for about a year now and have racked up about 80,000 points.
I just received the yearly fee of $450 and to tell you the truth I am considering canceling. The only benefit I really use is the airport club access and I have another amex platinum from my father so I won't really even be losing the access.
What are my options for the points? Should i try and switch them out to Delta using that 20% bonus. I also have a corporate card that is linked to my personal amex. If i cancel the personal amex, will i lose the ability to accrue MR points on the CC card or will they continue to accumulate?
Thanks

get a no fee credit card if your only goal is to bank the points and earn points on the Corp card.

I thought there was a difference in the MR programs between the amex blue and charge cards. Want to say it had something to do with ability to transfer points out?
If you had only an American Express credit card (Blue, Optima, The Knot or The Nest) it would be enrolled in Membership Rewards Express and the points would not be transferrable to an airline or hotel program. However, if you have both a credit card and a charge card (Green, Gold, Platinum or Centurion), all the points accumulate in the best program.
This said, I do not know what happens in the special case where you have only a personal credit card paired with a corporate charge card. It would be best to obtain a written answer from American Express using the secure messaging facility on the website, but you may have to ask more than once to get them to answer about a hypothetical combination.
You might also search for a fee-free-for-first-year offer on a Green or Gold card, apply and then cancel the Platinum card.

An MR point is an MR point, period.
What you can do with MR points is dictated by what kind of card you have.
According to the chart linked to below, the Corp charge cards get the same level of Membership Rewards as the personal charge cards.

What I don't know is if you can have a Membership Rewards account without having a personal or small business card, i.e., with only a corp card.
