American Express Membership Rewards - cent website

so a friend of mine was showing me the centurion website and we came across the register benefits page where it asks for your frequent flier #'s etc. Does anyone know how this works? When you submit it, does it submit your card # to them as well or can he upgrade his family members to elite status as well? Any light that anyone can shed on this would be great.

EDIT: I know there is a family members section but it says that is just so they can book trips for them. I am talking about putting their FF # into the cardholder slot so it upgrades their membership as well as the primary cent card holder.

also on the centurion site, under shopping it says you can take advantage of special privileges with Gucci. Is this new or did this used to exist? if you click for more details it only lists bergdorf, nemian, and sony cierge

In my experience, only Centurion cardholders get elite status. I have my sons' FF numbers registered with Centurion, so if they book their tickets, the boys will get mileage credit.

As far as the Gucci benefit goes, I do remember from a few years ago that you could redeem MR points for a Gucci gift card. I haven't seen anything from Gucci lately indicating they have added some benefit to the card.

I would guess that if I called Centurion and asked them to arrange a private shopping experience at Gucci (before or after hours) it could happen quickly. I would also guess that anyone could call a Gucci store and request the same thing, particularly if you have been a good customer in the past or promise to be a good customer in the future:

"You know what we're gonna need here? We're going to need a few more people helping us out. I'll tell you why. We are going to be spending an obscene amount of money in here. So we're going to need a lot more help sucking up to us, 'cause that's what we really like." :D

we were just wondering if you resubmit your sons number through teh website under the beenfits section (as the primary card holder) do both of you get co gold then?
