Hi,

I am renting a Dodge Charger in Denver in a few weeks and am wondering if the Charger (or equivalent) will have a aux jack for an MP3 player or if the CD player is capable is playing MP3 CDs.

Thanks!

All of the stereos for the Dodge Charger have Input ports and are MP3 CD capable.

And just in case you doubted JLewis's response, I will second it and confirm it!

Actually, ALL of Dodge and Chrysler's products carried in rental fleets have aux-input capability, since they all have the same basic radio, with the exception of the Pacifica (it uses a non-standard radio). Some Pacificas have a RCA inputs, so a 1/8" (headphone) to RCA adapter cable would work for that model.

I didn't think they made cars without aux inputs anymore, but the 2008 TrailBlazer I rented in SLC last month didn't! I was shocked!

You can blame this on the fact that the Pacifica was bred from the R Class MB.

Ah. The Pacifica is one of my favorite Chrysler cars...that might explain why!

Too bad it didn't sell well and they're discontinuing it.

If I were to buy a Dodge/Chrysler product, it'd be a tough decision between the Pacifica Limited, Charger R/T, Grand Cherokee Limited, and Avenger R/T (with all the options, of course). Most people seem to denigrate Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep products, but I've also had lots of driving experience in GM products (Cobalt, Impala, Grand Prix, and TrailBlazer, specifically) and Ford products (the last-generation Taurus and the Expedition), and I really don't care much for them.

Realistically, my next car will probably be a used Toyota, but among the American cars, I would pick Chrysler.

Thanks for the confirmation, I recently had a Chevy car that didn't have one. There is nothing worse than bringing all your tunes along and not being able to play them. I was shocked too!

I am now going to bump JLewis's thread, so I don't have to see my annoying "Didge" type in the title anymore.

Interestingly, the 2007 Cobalt and 2007 Impala did have aux inputs (as do their 2008 counterparts). So it was strange to have a 2008 TrailBlazer--certainly more upscale than the Cobalt--without one!

Sorry to bump the "Didge"--I'll PM a mod to see if they can change it... :D
