I had a chance to go to the Red Bull Air Race today down on the river front in Detroit... all I have to say is wow  it was amazing. talk about decadent racing. It has stunt planes, sky divers, and a helicopter that did back flips! I'm thinking I need to head to the next race, I'm hooked! Oh and btw the American Kirby whatshisname won the race (who cares, watching planes skim the water at 230mph is insane!) Anybody else make it down there and what did you think? FYI I was sitting in zone 3, in front of the Ren Cen.

Next race is in Stockholm (http://redbullairrace.com/races.php?id=4&subpage=4&lang=en) buy your tickets now Detroit was totally sold out!

Lucky you, I only made it on Saturday (Windsor side) but they called off the race:mad:. Maybe next year.

I was on the Windsor side for the races on Sunday and it was a great time. I'm glad we did not buy tickets as we still had a good view from Riverside drive and the lines for the ticketed areas were HUGE. Only negative was the two hours it took to get back to the US.

I read they estimated 750,000 people which was the largest crowd ever for the air races - and pretty much guarantees they will be back next year.
