Budget Travel - SJC - East Bay transportation

AA fares for XNA-SJC often are $200 or more cheaper than XNA-SFO and I fly this route twice a month. My final destination is the Rockridge Bart in Oakland. I've been using SFO but it would be nice to save the $200 and fly into SJC. Airport to home shuttles would consume most of the $200 savings.

Any suggestions on a reasonably efficient way to get from SJC to the Fremont Bart? I've looked at 511.org but the multiple bus changes aren't very appealing.

Your best option is the 10 to the Light Rail, light rail 2-3 stops south to Civic Center, bus 180 Express to Fremont BART. I wish they'd extend the 180 a few blocks north to Metro/Airport station to meet up with the 10.

Make a suggestion here (http://www.vta.org/misc/care/tell_us.html). If enough people ask for it, they should implement it.

I agree that a simpler connection to the East Bay should be available and your suggestion of the 10 - 181 direct connection would be an easy way to implement it. I have added my comment to the VTA.ORG link.

Any SJC - Fremont shuttle services out there that would allow a $20 - $30 connection to the Fremont Bart?

The really crazy thing is that I should fly into SJC, but Delta flights are cheaper to SFO. lol. You and I have the opposite problem..... (but I'm just going to rent a car...)
