Ok, I've been to the ICN website and the info there is sadly lacking. I'll be flying YVR-ICN-KIX (AC/OZ) with a 2.5 hr connection time.

I've got a couple of questions:
1) How long does it take to clear the "transfer security inspection"? My inbound flight arrives around 16:50.
2) Does anyone have a link to an ICN map? The ICN website doesn't have it, neither does a Google search.

Thanks!

Transfers at ICN are fairly straighforward. You come in on the lower level and have to go through a security check to get back to the departures level. The problem is if you are in the back of the plane or if two planes arrive at the same time in the same area. Then security can back up. The trick there is that the whole lower level is in a T arrangement and there are security checks in each leg and at the intersection. The couple of times things have looked really bad (the Asian version of Ma and Pa Kettle, times 100, gumming up the works) I have walked to another checkpoint and breezed through.

2.5 hours will be plenty of time in any case, I think.

Confirm previous post. ICN is a great place to transfer in, as there are relatively few people doing so. You do need to keep your eyes open to spot where to go, but it isn't that difficult.

easy, easy, if you're in a premium cabin i'd be more than comfortable at 70 minutes (flight delays notwithstanding), 2h 30m will leave you plenty of time for the lounge.

Likewise, thanks for the advice. I will likely be making a similar transfer this summer, and was looking for a thread just like this one!

Just keep in mind that all non-Korean airlines will be moving to the new satellite terminal at ICN. So add some extra time to all KE/OZ - non-Korean airline transits.

I'll be transfering through ICN too this summer, and I have 4.5 hrs between flight times (sheduled arrival at 2pm). Does anyone know of good opportunities to peek out of the airport for a couple hours and get back in time?

There are free transit tours for both OZ and KE connecting pax, I believe. Try a search.
