California - Another SAN Airport ?

I am flying into SAN tomorrow on American DFW-LAX-SAN. I understand I'll arrive at the commuter Terminal.

About 2 hours later, I am meeting my kids coming in on Southwest, which I understand is in Terminal 1.

I have an Admirals Club Membership and was hoping to avoid the Southwest Ticket counter to get a security pass to get past security by calling AA and getting a pass to get into the AC.

This seemed like a good plan until I looked at the airport map and it looks like you cannot get from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 without leaving security ...

Can you get from 1 to 2 without leaving security?

No. You can walk from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1, but you have to leave the secure area first.

(The Red Bus will take you from the Commuter Terminal to Terminal 2.)
