Starwood Preferred Guest - Westchester NY: any Starwood hotels?
I live in Westchester, NY (close to Starwood WHQ). I have too many family members coming to visit soon (child #3 on the way). There doesn't seem to be a starwood hotel anywhere in the vicinity.
Lurker (or anyone else) where do people visiting Starwood stay -- ryebrook Hilton?

There's a Sheraton in Tarrytown right where 87 and 287 merge before the Tappan Zee Bridge.

The Westin changed to a Hilton.
No great loss, as it was in a useless neighborhood, food/entertainment wise. Except that I had a client in the building next door, so stayed there 2-3 times a year until they were shut down after Citibank sold them.

thanks. isn't the sheraton one of those "time capsule" sheratons (when you walk through the door you think you've been transported back to 1980)? is that the one with the atrium in the middle (like the old hyatts)?

Yes! And the 'Time Capsule' feeling carries on right up to the rooms  The only other Starwood (that I'm aware of in the So CT area is the Four Points Norwalk, on Rt 7 just north of the Merritt.

it's ironic (or just plain weird) that there are no decent starwood hotels within a reasonable distance to the starwood headquarters.

Sheraton Stamford is a dump - avoid at all costs. How a hotel this close to HQ survives in its current state is shocking...

perhaps it is one of the few domestic sheratons that starwood owns and starwood doesn't want to put any $$ into the property (i.e., see midtown Manhattan sheraton...the one it didn't sell to Host Marriott).
OK, I'm convinced. I'm going to put em up at the new Ritz in White Plains. Really ironic, starwood!

Actually the closest hotel to Starwood HQ is the Renaissance :) (yes I stayed there for my last meeting with folks at Starwood HQ)

GE occupies much of one of the buildings down the street. I once stayed at this Sheraton the night before a meeting at GE. When making the reservation, I told agent that I was visiting GE, and asked if there was a discount. Was as given the GE rate, and next thing I know, the GE corporate set # was a permanent part of my SPG account. That number sometimes gets great rates around the world. :)

Nope, not on the Owned Property List.
