Travel Technology - Any good Outlook enhancements to WM6?

Now that I'm constantly synced with an exchange server (thanks to TyTn 2 and friendly corporate policy), I find myself using Outlook at lot more. My HP came with a great package of enhancements (I think called Pocket Informant) that made Outlook far more usable. Can anyone recommend something similar?

You could try several things...
First of all; there are NO real enhancements to Outlook under WM6, the enhancements all come from newer versions of Exchange. If the servers runs the newest Exchange, you'll get HTML email support (crap) and remote email search (pretty cool). The only change in WM6 is a stupid account picker when you switch to Outlook.
You could try installing Flexmail, which is a new email client, and works together with your current settings.
You should also try "Inbox Extender" which simply adds "mark all as read" and "delete all"
You can still try Pocket Informant, but it's better for the calendar portion than the email part.
FWIW; Flexmail is made by the same people that make Pocket Informant:

It looks like a combination of Flexmail and Pocket Informant is probably the way to go for me though it will be interesting to see if Pocket Informant works as well with a sub VGA display (having been spoiled by the Hx4700's display).
Thanks,

It actually works quite well on QVGA. But of course that doesn't mean you shouldn't rule out dropping your TyTn 2 in a puddle in a few months so you can ask for an X1 or a Diamong :D

Both look very nice. I bet the X1 is really by HTC and not SE ("wot no memory stick") and the Diamond would be a nice replacement for the SE M600 I currently stick the company SIM in.
It's strange, but a couple of years ago, I wouldn't have bet the Smartphone market being a two way battle between Apple and HTC/Microsoft with Symbian sidelined and Google trying to muscle in with vapourware.....

Yes that is an annoying "feature". I'll assume you have already figured out how to turn that off so this is for anyone else.
Open Messaging
Tap Menu > Options
At the bottom of the screen, uncheck the box next to "Display account picker ..."
From then on Messaging will open to the last viewed account.

It's the first thing I disable when I hard reset my device (or upgrade my firmware).
Whoever at Microsoft thought it would be productive to make people pick the account they want every single time they enter Outlook should be taken out back....

Maybe they are the same people responsible for Active Sync V4.X

And for removing Activesync over Wi-Fi :(
FWIW, WinMo 6.1 is on some devices now and will become available more readily in the very near future; I'm pretty sure that the TyTn is on the included list. It actually doesn't help out all that much for most things, but it does make a few things a little better. Even Exchange 2007 updates require v6.1 or v7 to be really useful (http://blog.protonassociates.com/2008/05/windows-mobile-you.html). I still put WinMo at 12-18 months behind RIM in terms of corporate usability.
One place where the WinMo 6.1/Exchange 2007 combination seems to shine is search integration. But that is still something that you'll depend on the back-end guys for managing/implementing.
