Starwood Preferred Guest - Le Meridien Makadi Bay, no longer part of SPG

I have a reservation at the LM Makadi Bay and have just received the following e-mail:



As of 30th September 2008, the Le Meridien Makadi Bay is no longer part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts or participating with the Starwood Preferred Guest program. If you have questions regarding your reservations, XXXXXX please feel free to contact the reservations department at the former Le Meridien Makadi Bay at +20-65-3590590.

Please note, should you choose to keep your reservations intact, you will not receive any Starpoints, earn stay credit nor receive any additional benefits for being a Starwood Preferred Guest member because this hotel will no longer be a participant in the Starwood Preferred Guest program during your stay. If you wish to receive these benefits, you should re-book your stay at another Starwood Preferred Guest participating property, subject to availability at the time you call or try to book online.

I am not showing any information on Le Meridien Makadi Bay leaving Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. If the hotel did leave, Starpoints and stay credit may not be awarded for the stay.

I stayed at this hotel in March and had the worst experience ever as a Platinum. I wrote the hotel manager about just how awful it was (left after one night) and manager granted me a free three day two night stay with all meals included the next time I am in Egypt. Just what I needed. This hotel will not be missed by SPG. Employees did not seem to know program existed when I was there. They even refused to take Amex SPG credit card!
