Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - Is anyone else having trouble buying tickets to the Maldives on Singapore's website?

I am trying to purchase tickets to the Maldives on Singapore's Airlines' website and it keeps telling me that there are no seats available. But I have checked about 30 different days. Something has to be wrong.

How for in advance are you looking at? Next April/May, or more recent?

Hey...thanks for responding 'cause i'm really trying to figure this out so i can buy the tickets and get seats locked in. This trip is for my honeymoon.

I am trying to buy tickets for September 2008.

Not sure if its related - but the Maldives is one of those annoying paper ticket only destinations. Maybe the online system isn't so happy to play ball when it can't be e-ticketed.

I have had problems with putting the Maldives into the middle of an itinerary and booking it online for this reason.

Traveler22, maybe you can give us more specific dates and routings?

Really?
I just travelled from MLE in April on SQ through to LAX on an eticket, which was booked online.

I just bought e-tix on EK website from CMB-MLE. No problem. Also MLE-CMB on UL, from Expedia.

It was working just a couple of weeks ago, but now is not.

I am trying to depart on sept. 14 and return on sept. 28, but dates are flexible.

I prefer to take SQ37 connecting to SQ452 on the outbound to take advantage of one of the last executive economy flights....and SQ451 connecting to SQ638 connecting to SQ12 so I can fly on the A380.

The website will let me book round trips from LAX to SIN and from SIN to MLE...or even one ways from LAX to MLE and from MLE to LAX, but not the complete round trip from LAX to MLE > MLE to LAX.

Any ideas? Has anyone else tried this? I find it hard to believe that it is just my computer.

It is married segment availability. @:-) Even though an itinerary is available from LAX-SIN and SIN-MLE, it doesn't mean it is available for LAX-SIN-MLE. You need to call SQ and waitlist for your flights. Of course, you can also purchase two tickets, one for LAX-SIN, one for SIN-MLE, but the fare will be higher. :(

I had similar issues last year with the MLE-SIN segment of MLE-SIN-EWR
My TA called SQ and got them to clear the waitlist, as it was wide open.

I have also had that problem and found sometimes it is because they have seasonal schedule changes. I remember especially trying to book a ticket from SIN to CMB and finally found that SQ makes major schedule changes in the off season. I know they have seasonal changes for MLE as well going from daily to just several times per week in low season.

I can confirm MLE is a destination where SQ offers e-ticket. There was some confusion about it earlier but after some careful digging, BMI was able to clarify that it's doable both to/from MLE on e-ticket. They ended up converting our paper tickets into e-tickets, over the phone.
