Great! thanks for the info. mia May 22, 08, 9:41 am ...2% tax ... The fee is actually $0.95 or 95 points per 1,000 points transferred to an airline program. That's 0.95%, not 2.00%. Brendan Jun 23, 08, 1:00 pm Nope, 95 points is 9.50% of 1000, which is close to the 7% (or is it 7.5%?) US Federal Excise Tax on domestic airfares & sales of FF miles to CC banks, etc. Amtrak is exempt because it is not an airline :) . mia Jun 23, 08, 2:39 pm Nope, 95 points is 9.50% of 1000, Thank you. I've never redeemed points to pay the fee, but even using money I see that I've miscalculated. Alas, it won't be the last time :( . |
