Does anyone know of a tool which allows you to download an entire website (not just the index page) without clicking through each page and doing a 'save as'? I find myself offline a lot, but need to thoroughly read through a number of websites. Thanks.

Google "offline browser" for a bazillion suggestions, many of them free.

Second HTtrack.

It's a great tool for most uses, just have to play around with the settings a bit if the site you are downloading has internal (the site itself) and external (other websites) links, or else you may be trying to download the entire internet.

You can do this in IE7.0, and IE6.0. check offline browsing, pick however many levels deep you want to download. It ain't the best, but it is quick and easy for things like Wsj.com or Nytimes.com if you like. Although, for the NYT, NOTHING beats the times reader.

I've used this with great success before... pretty much just for saving articles and stuff to read while flying.

You can also use Adobe Acrobat Professional to create a pdf file of web sites. You can specify how many levels down to go, whether to stay on the same path and/or server, and if you want the entire site. This process will also save documents linked to the site (like Word and pdf files.)

Excellent tip! I did not know you could do this with Acrobat Professional. The layout does not match what you see in the browser but still a good option for reading web sites offline.
