MilesBuzz! - delta miles...czech air business class...what to expect?

Well, hopefully I posted this in the right section. Taking the Mrs to Prague and AMS next spring. Splurged on business class award ticket. We will be going over on Czech air and coming home on Delta. We have never flown Czech air can anyone give me an idea of what we have in store? Also (since I have not seen the inside of one of the club lounges for over 10 years) can anyone give us any tips on how to make the best use of them. I am assuming that we will be able to use the Delta lounges in JFK...Prague...AMS.

Czech Air is OK. Not splendid, mind you, and the metal is probably not too perfect, but the service is definitely better than any US air company in the same class.

I fly them between Oslo and Belgrade regularly (it's THE cheapest: way below published fares). They serve free booze in Economy on just about 2 hour long flights and a selection of special meals (nothing stunning, but still way beyond KLM's soggy cheese sandwich).

However, last time I flew them, Czechs didn't have the special meal I ordered, and on neither leg (Oslo-Prague or Prague-Belgrade).

I sent them an email complaining that it was not fair to leave me eating 2 bread buns alone for 5 hours (too short a connection time in Prague for a real meal at the airport) and I didn't ask for anything. But they sent me a $ 50 voucher.

I think you will be on a Airbus 300. A kinda old plane, basic entertainment system, blah cabin. The "business class" - Club Europa(?) is 2x2x2, maybe 18 or 24 seats total. Pretty good legroom. The food is pretty good and the flight crew I had was very nice and there seemed to be alot of them. Overall Czech business class is inferior to Delta Business Elite or US Airways Envoy or Continental Business First (IMO), might be better than Northwest.
You should have lounge access in JFK, the airport in Prague has just one VIP lounge for all airlines.

Prague is incredible - have a great trip.
