Is there any easy way to do this that doesn't require a 20 hour layover in NAN or cost $2500 more than flying ot Pago Pago? Alternatively, how easy to get from Pago Pago to Apia??
Thanks,
Greg

Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific - LAX to Apia, SamoaView Full Version : LAX to Apia, Samoa gdlamberth May 17, 08, 6:33 pm Is there any easy way to do this that doesn't require a 20 hour layover in NAN or cost $2500 more than flying ot Pago Pago? Alternatively, how easy to get from Pago Pago to Apia?? Thanks, Greg Kiwi Flyer May 17, 08, 9:33 pm Air NZ flies LAX-APW vv nonstop once a week (flight continues through Tonga to New Zealand). Edited to add. Currently LAX-APW departs each Tuesday night (arrive APW early Wednesday morning) and APW-LAX departs early hours Tuesday morning (arrive LAX early Tuesday afternoon). Note, some NZ fares to New Zealand allow a "free" stopover in the islands. Worth checking out IMO (there are additional flights APW-AKL thus depending on your dates may even work out quicker than waiting for the once per week direct flight, plus you get to visit NZ and more miles). Swanhunter May 18, 08, 7:32 am IIRC there are puddle jumpers from Pago Pago to Apia, and also a ferry. I hope you get there, make sure you get over to Savai'i, one of the more delightful places on the planet. gdlamberth May 18, 08, 3:08 pm Thank you both, great info. Kiwi Flyer, I don't know about more time but the direct flight is great if only weekly/ Swan Hunter, Can you remember the names of or contact information for any of the "puddle jumpers?" Flights to Pago Pago are fairly infrequent but depart US on Thur and return on Sunday and seem to arrive in PPG about 2130 or so. If we go that route I'd like to be able to contact the operators to get schedules, pricing and baggage limitations. Thanks all Greg |
